The Ohio Environmental Law Center seeks to reform Ohio law to fully protect the state’s human and natural resources by educating lawmakers and the public, and researching new policy approaches and solutions.
Our staff researches, writes, and publishes detailed legal analysis of state and federal policy and legislation that shape Ohio’s environmental protections.
Forthcoming publications tackle the legal, political and practical barriers to:
- constitutionality of the Clean Water Restoration Act
- effective citizen enforcement of environmental laws;
- employing large scale carbon sequestration to mitigate Ohio’s contribution to climate change;
- meshing private property rights and the Public Trust Doctrine.
